Jiro Yamada is part of a batch of freshly-recruited civilian test pilots for Nergal Heavy Industries' revolutionary lightweight combat robot, the Aestivalis. While satisfyingly loyal and talented, he seems to be obsessed with the classic super robot show, "Gekiganger 3", almost to the point of fanaticism. This devotion has been known to surface in his behavior as well as his fighting style, so bent is he on emulating his heroes. He has been described as extremely enthusiastic about his job, but more cynical observers may just call him a borderline insane danger to himself and others.
